Primary school
Krásná Lípa

Non-traditional way of teaching

The new science classroom at the Krásná Lípa Primary School is the fifth SoS implementation in the Czech Republic. The interactive globe-shaped installation is not only used to project what is happening on the Earth's surface, based on data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), but teachers can also prepare physics, science, geography or even history lessons for pupils.

Because the classroom was designed as a multifunctional space, a special lift has been installed to allow the sphere to be manipulated.

Natural Science Centre Žatec

Explore the Earth and the Universe like never before

The attractive exhibition is interesting not only visually, but especially in terms of information. An image based on NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) measurements is projected onto a spherical projection screen almost two metres in diameter. The sphere can be walked around and the situation in different parts of the planet can be observed naturally. The surface of the globe can present, among other things, the earth's atmosphere, the oceans or simulations of various events, but also the surface of the moon, Mars and other planets. In addition to planetary and cosmic phenomena, the globe can also be used to view a variety of educational programmes or live presentations or lectures by leading scientists and experts in their fields.

TECHMANIA SCIENCE CENTER IN PILSEN

Space for creativity and discovering new connections

The Science on a Sphere® installation is an interactive exhibition that is  interesting for visitors not only in terms of the technology used and the wow effect, but above all in terms of its contents. The results of the measurement of various phenomena around the globe, and their presentation on a spherical projection screen showing the Earth, which can be walked around, explored, viewed and controlled in a natural way, is truly unique. As a result, these spherical cinemas have found applications worldwide.

ALTERNÁTOR ECOTECHNICAL CENTRE IN TŘEBÍČ

Second Science on a Sphere® in the Czech

The environmental and technical centre in Borovina was established
as a project inspired by modern interactive science centres that seek to educate visitors in physics, technology and ecology in a fun way.

The aim of the recently opened Alternátor Ecotechnical Centre is to introduce visitors of all ages to the possibilities of using different energy sources. The exhibition traces man‘s journey to obtain heat and electricity, from ancient history to the present day and the very latest technologies. The new interactive exhibition was created in a former boiler room. The installation of Science on a Sphere® formed part of the project, thereby becoming the seventh in Europe.

NOAA’s Science On a Sphere® can be found in educational institutions, museums, planetariums and public centres around the world.
